I sometimes wonder whether "normality" is the hypothetical state the country would have reached if its evolution after 1913 had not been distorted by two World Wars.
That's actually a rather interesting idea, what would have happened without the intervention of WWI. In between gaps in the football, maybe I will have a little public think about it...
