Missing The Point

I was given an IPod for Christmas a couple of years ago, and in a way one of the most satisfying things about it was the packaging design: sparse, uncluttered, oozing confidence in the simple excellence of the product, which is of course also quite beautiful, and so its ability to promote itself. This, therefore, is quite funny (via).

The few days that have passed since the headphones I use with my iPod broke are a reminder of just how important the constant availability of days' worth of music can become.

As for Apple's packaging, they certainly are a company that pays attention to presentation.

Mock ad was funny, packaging is good but wasteful.
