A Quick Link
For the tiny fraction of my readers who don't necessarily read Crooked Timber, they have one of their periodic seminar things, doing Susanna Clarke's 'Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell'. The one on China Mieville was excellent, and encouraged me to read all of his novels, which were similarly excellent.

As your was the first link I saw to this, found the pages, then went back to my feeds and saw links all over the place, I thank you anyway.
Strange and Norrell is definately my book of the year, and until Clarke's got another few books under her belt, MiƩville is my favourite author of the moment, above Gaiman and Banks. Havne't read the articles yet, but, well, they look good from a skim. Shame I leant my copy to a friend last night, I'll have to work from memory...
