Elizabeth Anderson continues her attempt to vindicate liberalism (in roughly the sense that is used as an insult by those on the American right) at Left2Right by pointing to a distinction between freedom as non-interference and freedom as non-domination, I assume in order to claim that particular forms of market relation are dominating and thus a cause of unfreedom. Quentin Skinner, the Cambridge historian of ideas, has been going on about republicanism - in the sense of freedom as non-domination - for some time, and, as example of his take on the issue, for those of you with an LRB subscription, here is an article.
